The Banghart Lab seeks to understand how neuromodulators contribute to pain modulation in the mammalian central nervous system, with an focus on mechanisms governing neuropeptide signaling. Our multidisciplinary approach relies on electrophysiological, optical, and behavioral methods along with in-house development of molecular tools for manipulating neurochemical signaling in the brain.
